A super-telephoto zoom built for nature and wildlife image-makers, the FUJIFILM XF 150-600mm f/5.6-8 R LM OIS WR strikes a unique balance between immense reach and a relatively portable design, making for an ideal lens to capture the most remote and distant adventures.
Stability and Speed
Powerful optical image stabilization compensates for up to five stops of camera shake, making it easier to achieve sharp imagery when shooting handheld, especially under lower lighting conditions.
Quick and reliable autofocus performance thanks to a linear motor system, which also enables smooth and silent focusing performance that benefits both stills and video applications. This focusing system also helps to greatly reduce focus breathing.
Internal zooming and internal focusing design maintains the overall length and balance during use, making it more natural to use when mounted to a gimbal head and tripod or even when shooting handheld.
On-lens focusing controls for immediate, tactile adjustment over focusing settings: focus range limiter switch, AF-ON, and AF-L buttons.
Optics and Super-Telephoto Design
Four Super ED and three ED elements are featured, which greatly reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the zoom range for a high degree of clarity and color accuracy.
Modest f/5.6-8 maximum aperture helps maintain a relatively portable form factor, meaning this lens can be used handheld and packed for easier use on location and for subjects that don't require the utmost speed.
Offering a 229-914mm equivalent focal length range, this super-tele zoom is suitable for a wide range of distant subjects. It's also compatible with the optional XF 1.4x and 2x WR Teleconverters, which can extend the lens to a further effective 1828mm equivalent focal length.
Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth, circular bokeh quality when using shallow depth of field and selective focus effects.
Durable Design, Intuitive Handling
As a lens built for the great outdoors, naturally it has extensive weather sealing to protect against moisture, dust, and cold temperatures down to 14°F.
Front fluorine coating protects against water, grease, dirt, and smudging, and also makes it easier to clean the front element.
Rotating tripod collar, with a removable foot, for greater stability when shooting atop a tripod or monopod.
Included lens hood features a window for easier adjustment of rotating filter types when attached to the lens.

I have wanted this lens for some time and broke down and ordered it, I considered others in the same range but the extra 100mm, internal focus and the f/stop ring were things that swayed me towards it as well as Fuji's quality optics.
I want to do a little more wildlife and have been using my Canon 400mm L lens on my Fuji cameras with a Fringer adapter and it works but a dedicated lens is better. I haven't had a lot of opportunity to use it due to the bad weather we ae having so I have been playing around at the house indoors with it and it is very surprising what it will do, very promising. The color, and sharpness are right on, but the great thing is the ability to hand hold this lens and get good sharp pictures that you can't do with others. I did go outdoor last night to take a quick full moon shot just to try it out and couldn't believe the outcome, of course with it on a good tripod it would have been better but what I got was nothing to sneeze at. I can't wait for the weather to break to get outdoors and also i need to get my bird feeders filled up so I can try it out on the local birds. if you are looking for a good tele for your Fuji consider this as it has a good zoom spread and the crop factor makes it more exciting, I would love to have the straight 500 to compare it too but am satisfied with my purchase.
Even w/ Caveats I love it.

I bought the lens new from BnH in November 2023. I have been using it regularly since in conjunction with my X-T5.
Right off the bat, I tested the lens at the botanical gardens where I shot various subjects including plants, flowers, insects, birds and other animals. I even took some unique landscape shots.
The lens produces very nice and sharp pictures across the whole focal range and even wide open. Is it as sharp as a prime? Maybe not. Does it have to be ? No. Is there a Fuji prime at 150mm + to 600mm ? I don't know... but I am betting no. So comparing would be impossible anyway.... as this is a unique lens.
The 150-600mm is sufficiently sharp to get amazing wildlife shots. Overall I am extremely happy with this lens and force taking it on all trips which involve nature and even some city scapes.
Given the aperture limits of this lens, it does require a lot of light. With optimal light, I've had no problems shooting handheld even at 600mm. The OIS/IBIS can only do so much at 600mm... therefore I do need to hold the camera and lens very steadily, with reasonably high shutter speeds even with good light. Nothing a tripod can't fix otherwise. For situations with lesser light I have used a monopod with success. For very nice moon shots, I have only been able to do so with a tripod given the time of day.
The aperture limit was amplified when I coupled the lens with the 1.4x teleconverter. The lens does lose some sharpness at max focal length and near it and I have not been able to shoot stable pictures handheld with the teleconverter at max aperture or anything above 630mm. Even with a slight loss of sharpness, the pictures are still very pleasant and usable. In most cases I have been able to re-sharpen the pictures I didn't like in Lightroom. The tripod helped me immensely with the teleconverter use and when shooting at its max focal length of 840. I'd say a heavy and stable tripod is absolutely required for sharp pictures.
Color/Contrast is amazing across the entire focal and aperture range.
The camera does struggles immensely once the sun goes down. Aside from moon shots, I have not been able to shoot any good pictures with or without the teleconverter at night. Maybe I need to improve my skill... or maybe given the max aperture it is extremely difficult to do so.
In conclusion, I strongly recommend this lens to those who wish to photograph wild life and nature in general. It is incredibly fun. Its versatility is incomparable and when coupled with the 1.4x teleconverter the lens essentially becomes a telescope. As I mentioned earlier, the lens struggles when the sun goes down, but this could be due to my lack of skill to photograph evening subjects. Good luck and cheers.

Does this lens normally make noise when focusing (i.e. like aperture chatter?)
Asked by: Matt
I find this lens noticeably quieter than most of my Fuji lenses, particularly those with OIS. I can hear some sounds when messing around indoors, but outdoors or in noisier environments it is virtually silent.

Has the X-E4 been optimized via firmware to operate optimally with this lens?
Asked by: Leigh
No. The FUJIFILM XF 150-600mm f/5.6-8 R LM OIS WR Lens was just recently announced on May 31, 2022. The most recent firmware update for the FUJIFILM X-E4 Mirrorless Camera was Ver.1.10 released on February 28, 2022. You would need to wait for a firmware update released after the lens is available for it to possibly be designed for optimizing performance, but the FUJIFILM XF 150-600mm f/5.6-8 R LM OIS WR Lens should be compatible for use with the FUJIFILM X-E4 Mirrorless Camera once it is available without the need of a firmware update.
