Slim Profile for Mounting Flexibility
Adding the light to your gimbal is simple thanks to its 1/4"-20 thread which attaches to an articulating arm. The light's slim profile makes it ideal for mounting to a tripod, light stand, or gimbal configuration. An integrated shade creates diffused light to achieve a softer look in your footage.

Zhiyun FR100C Reviews

Excellent tube light...too bad you can't fly with it!

I have found these tube LED lights are great for run and gun interviews in travel and documentary videos...when placed properly for a talking head video, they can look like diffused umbrella or softbox light. To have a powerful 100 watt tube light, which can almost match up to full sunlight, would be an enormous benefit for shooting in the tropics and sunny areas, but the problem is that the lipo batteries are NOT detachable, so this light has to go in your carry on, it can't go in your checked bags. But, if you don't have to fly, and need a bright, powerful, versatile tube light (and again, the more you use these things, the more useful you'll find them...great for outdoor interviews because they're far less prone to blowing over in the wind than an umbrella or softbox.) this is a winner. The fans are a little noisy, but nothing you can't work around. If they made a detachable battery handle (so you could carry on the battery handle, and check the tube part), it'd be pretty much a perfect run and gun LED for traveling documentary filmmakers.

Bright, but you can't fly with it.

Tube lights are really so versatile for a traveling documentary or music video creator and this one is in another class of brightness...just amazing. To have a tube light this bright as a key light opens up a world of possibilities... Well, maybe not a world of possibilities, because these lithium batteries are too big and powerful to be checked in as luggage. So if you want to fly to a gig with these lights, you better be able to fit them into your carryon baggage, otherwise, the batteries can't go in your checked baggage according to the FAA If only Zhiyun had made the battery handle detachable, we could put the batteries in our carryon, and checked the longer, heavier tube light itself. If you're driving to a gig and need a big, super bright key light that can almost match full sunlight and doesn't need a modifier, this is THE light for you. But if you're flying to gigs, you better have a big carryon bag that will fit one or more of these tubes, otherwise, you have to leave them at home. Such a simple design concern, especially when you consider the tech chops it took to make a tube light this bright and portable, but then to not realize that airline regulations will prevent people who travel to gigs to really use this thing, is a shame. Hopefully, a version 2 of this light will address the battery issue. I hope so, because it's a terrific and super bright light.

Ugly, but very bright and handy

Pluses: Very bright and provides sustained light due to 6 fans in the back of the light, easy to screw on a light stand or adapt to a tripod. Minuses: Very fiddly dial . Trying to just dim the light with that dial or increase the output can inadvertently switch you to other adjustments - which is very annoying. Hardly for use in any professional setting if you need a speedy adjustment. Yet, I love this light and hope Zhiyun will improve it in v.2

What's the difference between the FR100C & the ...

What's the difference between the FR100C & the F100? It seems the F100 has lower light output but w/ barn doors and a grid.
Asked by: J.D.
The Fr100c and F100 are very similar. The F100 control has less click buttons, As well as a new shortcut where double pressing the power button will cycle through changing the currently selected value to 0%, 50%, and 100%. And the F100 has new barn doors, diffuser and grid attachments and strong case. F100 nearly doubling the RGB intensity from 16W to 30W, and adding a host of video effects such as SOS, Fire, TV, Candle, and more. FR100C was limited to charging at a maximum of 28W but the F100 is now capable of charging at 100W through the USB Type-C port.

Are the rechargeable batteries in the light lithium-ion? I must travel with this light and want to know if it can be checked or if it has to go in the carry-on. Thank you.
Asked by: Karen
Many, if not most, consumer devices (like this light) which do not have removable batteries are allowed to be checked in US. My question is if there is some lock-out setting to prevent accidental powering on when packed/stowed away whether in a plane, train, or car.
