I have the Godox 860iii speedlight in canon version. Can you replace the bottom mount with this sony connection mount to use on a sony camera? Will this work?

Unfortunately Godox Hot Shoe for V860 III Flash for Sony Cameras won't work like that. It may lead to damage to your Godox V860iii flash.

This Godox Hot Shoe for V860 III Flash for Sony Cameras is comprised of metal. The photo is showing a protective cap which is plastic.

Is this the same as the OEM hotshot that breaks easily or is this a metal hotshoe?

The only information from Godox on the Godox Hot Shoe for V860 III Flash for Panasonic/Olympus Cameras is it is a direct replacement for the one the flash comes with.
