Once you get past the Synology tax, very good product. Easy to install in my DS1522+. My switch and PCs are only 2.5Gb ports and this works great in my network. Love the 2 day shipping from BH.

The Synology E10G22-T1-Mini RJ45 10G Ethernet Module will not work with the Synology DS1621xs+. To add a 10G port to this enclosure, you'd need the Synology E10G18-T1 10GbE PCIe Expansion Card (B&H # SYE10G18T1).

Will this support 2.5 GB speed? - 2.5 adapters for macs are less expensive and more reliable

No, the Synology E10G22-T1-Mini RJ45 10G Ethernet Module BH #SYE10G22T1M • MFR #E10G22-T1-MINI will not work with the DS1821+.
