Can you use this with any blackmagic pocket camera without a dummy battery?
Asked by: Diego
I just used the 99Wh version on a gig with a Pocket 4K (D-tap cable to side power input) and got a solid 2.5 hours of recording (Q5) from it, with at least a half hour of idle time before that. After the gig, camera reported 14.2 volts at power input, and got he battery reported 37% charge remaining. I'm super happy with those results!

Would this charge while plugged into RED V-Raptor ?
Asked by: Siddharth
The SmallRig VB99 Mini V-Mount Battery (99Wh) (B&H# SM3580) does not support the SMBUS protocol which RED states is needed for proper charging while attached to the RED DIGITAL CINEMA V-RAPTOR XL 8K VV Cinema Camera (V-Mount) (B&H# REVRAPTRXLVV). In such instances, some charging or reporting of battery power level may be possible with some chargers (since the camera is operating like a charger). However, the accuracy and functionality are not considered to be reliable.
