Godox Lux Senior Overview

Compatible with FUJIFILM, Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Sony cameras, the Lux Senior Retro Camera Flash from Godox is a diminutive 7 x 4.5 x 3.3" light source with basic features and is small enough to have it regularly mounted on your camera.

Called a "retro" flash, the unit has a simple dial that correlates ISO with apertures, power levels, and shooting distances. For example, if you want to shoot at 5' with an ISO of 400, the dial lines up f/5.6 and 1/16 power. The flash has an Auto Mode, too, that defaults to f/2.8 at ISO 100.

Control features include an Optical Mode that offers S1 and S2 settings. In S1 the flash will fire in response to another manual or TTL flash, while in S2 the Retro Flash will respond similarly, but ignore the initial flash. The unit runs on its rechargeable battery and comes with a triggering cable and a storage bag.

I like it, great on my NIKON Zfc which has no flash. I like retro. I have the 50's flashbulb that 'looks' like this. Soon I will shoot it with Large Format, just because. I have the other cheaper one too!

No, the Godox Lux Senior Retro Camera Flash is a flash, not LED. And like most flashes are 5600 color temperature. You can get gels to change the color temperature, like these, https://bhpho.to/3AafqKr .

In auto mode Godox Lux Senior Retro Camera Flash defaults to ISO 100 and aperture 2.8, so you would need to set the camera to ISO 100 and aperture 2.8 to get a good exposure in that function.

Can this be used off camera with the Godox triggers?
Asked by: Catherine
No, the Godox Lux Senior Retro Camera Flash cannot be used by itself with Godox's standard X-series wireless triggers as it does not have a built-in wireless radio transceiver. As such, you would have to purchase one of the Godox receivers onto which you may mount the Godox Lux Senior Retro Camera Flash, as well as a Godox transmitter. You will have to set the flash output manually as the Godox Lux Senior Retro Camera Flash
