I want to use a Venus Optics Laowa 90mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Lens for Leica L on my SL2. As it is manual, will metering work? How to get the camera to recognize this lens?
The Venus Optics Laowa 90mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Lens for Leica L does not support camera-to-lens communication, so the camera's meter will not work. The camera will think no lens is attached, so you must set the camera to shoot without the lens in the menu.

On the aperture ring of both 90mm & 100mm lenses there is a dot in between f11 & f22. What does it mean? It is not explained on the user manual either? Kindly help
The white dot on teh Venus Optics Laowa 90mm and 100mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Lens for Canon RF between f/11 and f/22 represent f/16. The manual included in the box does not address why the manufacture used a dot instead of the number, however there is a graphic in page 25 listing the lens aperture.

Is the aperture automatic and linked to the exposure system or is it a preset lens with manual diaphragm.
The Venus Optics Laowa 90mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Lens for Sony E has no electronics in the lens so the aperture is controlled manual on the lens barrel. The camera would be limited to aperture or manual exposure modes and as the aperture is rotated, the camera's meter will adjust the shutter speed as needed.
