Meike FF-Prime Cine 16mm T2.5 Reviews

5 star lens one major issue

I own the Meikie 24mm and 85mm and was about to get the 135mm to have a full Cinema Lens Kit (Budget) for specific shoots that I don't want to bring out my expensive Cinema lenses on. This lens is not compatible in color, threading, weight, size, etc. to my other Meike lenses and I have no idea why they would put a lens in the family of this FF line that is totally not compatible to the rest (That's the entire reason we buy these lenses so we can swap them out fast without having to have multiple adapters, recalibrate jibs/gimbals, etc. If you're a person who hasn't used Cooke's or Zeiss lenses than this won't matter much but if you are buying this expecting higher-level cinema lens features (The minimal ones for color matching, and easy swapping) then this is kind of a deal breaker. The good side is that for the price this is a no brainer and if you plan to use this lens on a Gimbal that it lives on and you are not swapping a lot and you don't mind doing a few minor adjustments in Post to fix the color shifts between swapping lenses than this is an absolute bargin for the price. That being said I'm still going to buy Meike Lenses because the FF's I've gotten so far have produced excellent images and I'm very happy with the 85mm and 24mm and I'm sure over time I'll love this one just as much for the price.

Use it on my VV V-Raptor

Lens has little breathing, less vignetting than the Canon 16-35mm, and is pretty sharp. The price is a no brainer. Love that that it works on FF and even RED Raptor and you can switch to PL
