Key Features
  • Fits Elect FUJIFILM X100 Series Cameras
  • 1/4 Diffusion Filter
  • Reduces Highlights and Lowers Contrast
  • Creates Cinematic Look
The Black Mist Filter 1/4 Filter from NiSi is a classic style diffusion filter made to fit select FUJIFILM X100 Series cameras, inspired by the popular cinema range "Allure Mist Black" and recreated as a circular filter. Compatible with both still imaging and video, a Black Mist filter lowers contrast by suppressing and diffusing highlights and lifting shadows to help balance the tonal range of the image. It creates a cinematic look and is also commonly used to soften wrinkles and blemishes and creates a flattering image of a subject. The effect is most effective when capturing light that diffuses softly when backlit, creating a transparent light that looks like it was taken with a high-quality vintage lens.

Can these Nisi black mist filters be used with ...

Can these Nisi black mist filters be used with the V7 filter holder and CPL? Or, are they meant to be used just by themselves. I would think they would make them in the 100x100 format to use in the V7 holder...that way you could use with more lenses too.

The Black Mist circular filters are meant to be used directly attached to the lens and will not work with any of V series holders (V5/V6/V7). We do make rectangular black mist filters for cinema matte boxes but currently we do not make them for our 100x100mm system.

The NiSi 95mm Professional Black Mist 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8 Filter Kit with Case will not work with the DZOFilm Pictor 12-25mm T2.8 Super35 Parfocal Zoom Lens (PL/EF, Black) as the lens accepts 86 mm screw in filters.

can i stack ND filter with it ?
Asked by: adelqafar
The NiSi 82mm Black Mist Filter 1/8 (B&H# NIBME82), as with all circular NiSi Black Mist Filters 49-95mm in diameter, has both rear male and front female filter threads. As such, it may be added on top of existing filters, and additional filters may be added to it. Of course, adding more than one filter can sometimes result in vignetting, so you'll need to experiment to see if that works for your lens and intended usage or if you will need first to add a step-up ring and use a larger diameter filter to eliminate it.
