Both lenses have pros and cons. The Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 STM Lens is lighter and more compact. This will be better in low-light with more background blur but the RF Canon RF 15-30mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens will have zoom capability. If you are using a gimbal, the Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 STM Lens will be a better option.

Yes regardless of your camera settings it will force correct the massive distortion of this lens. Of course this results in lower resolution.
