Based on a classic optical design from more than 80 years ago, the Biotar 58mm f/1.5 II from Meyer-Optik Gorlitz is a slightly longer-than-normal-length prime for Leica L-mount cameras. Its bright f/1.5 maximum aperture is well-suited for selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques, and this lens provides wonderful color reproduction, excellent sharpness, and natural image compression. An ideal portrait lens, this classic optic lets you create a three-dimensional look that makes the subject jump out of the picture.

Hi, which mount would allow for the most compatibility with various cameras using an adapter? Thanks.
I would also add that of the versions available, the Leica L has the longest Flange distance of any of the variants at 20mm and should therefore be (theoretically) able to adapt to Nikon Z, Canon RF, Fuji X, M4/3, etc - of course manual only and probably without lens metadata. Wish here was a Leica M version, since it has an even longer flange distance and there are many (Manual only non chipped adapters) that work for these newer mirrorless cameras.

For the Fuji X-mount, does the lens have an extended barrel like on the primoplans (to account for mirrorless sensors)?
No, the Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Biotar 58mm f/1.5 II Lens for FUJIFILM X is a mirrorless design. designed for mirrorless camera. It is not an SLR design that has been adapted to work with mirrorless. As such, it does not need that barrel extension.

Does the lens send exif info to the camera?
Does the lens send exif info to the camera?
Being that the Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Biotar 58mm f/1.5 II Lens for Sony E lacks electronic contacts on the lens mount, it would not relay EXIF information from the lens to the camera.
