KITE OPTICS NAVATAQ 16x42 Reviews

Best Optics I have used for my profession.

I work in Airborne Law Enforcement. I have used numerous brands and styles of stabilized binoculars in my career each with their own benefits and compromises. These are hands down the best I have used. Zero compromise with these. The clarity in both high and low light conditions is incredible. The stabilizing is also incredible. After being passed around our unit, we all agree these will be the new standard binoculars for our unit. If you're on the fence about them, you will not regret your purchase or the price. The fact they have a replaceable silicon housing is also an awesome feature.

good stabilizer, light weight, but some issues

These are very nearly the same overall size as my Canon 10x42 L IS, but lighter weight, and with 16x instead of 10x. The stabilization even at 16x appears substantially better than the Canon unit. The optical quality is not quite as good as the Canon, but still very good. The much smaller exit pupil requires more careful alignment with your eyeballs, but still provides a bright view. I did not receive the front lens cover shown in the pictures. The eyecups are fixed, not twist-up. The auto angle power switch works quickly and surely. The battery life should be excellent, though the Canon's battery life was never a problem. Good strap, (better than Canon), sturdy storage case, but no carry case. The silicone armor cover adds only slight size and weight and should help. Over all, a handy tool to help with my age-related tremors, and a bigger, better view of the animals.
