Dock a compatible mobile workstation using the Thunderbolt 4 280W G4 Dock with Combo Cable from HP. Connecting to hosts via Thunderbolt 4, this dock features an integrated power cable to supply power-hungry HP laptops. When connecting via Thunderbolt 4, HP laptops benefit from up to 100W of power; use the barrel connector to add additional power for up to 230W of total power delivery. Connect wired peripherals via a 15W USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and four USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, including two with up to 7.5W of power output. Video outputs include a Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.0, two DisplayPort 1.4 interfaces, and a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 DisplayPort Alt Mode port.
Connect up to three 4K displays at 60 Hz using DisplayPort 1.4 protocols for up to four 4K displays at 60 Hz using DisplayPort 1.4 and Display Stream Compression technology. An RJ45 port supports 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet speeds for fast downloads. Plus, Intel vPro compatibility allows for easy IT admin, even after user disconnection. This dock works with Windows 10 and later, macOS 11.5.2 and later, Windows 10 IoT, HPThinPro 8.0, Chrome OS, and Linux Ubuntu 20.04 and later.
In addition to Thunderbolt 4 hosts, this dock is compatible with USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode hosts; when connected to an Alt Mode host, ports on the dock will be limited to Alt Mode speeds dependent on host specifications. Some features including using the power button to turn on/wake the system, wake-on-LAN from a warm or cold dock and S4 and S5, and MAC address pass-through only work with HP or HP supported laptops. HP does not supply Ethernet or audio drivers for macOS.
