Techart PRO LM-EA9 Overview

The Autofocus Adapter II from Techart PRO enables you to use Leica M-mount lenses on Sony E-mount cameras and provides autofocus functionality. Compatible with both full-frame and APS-C-size camera models, this updated Version II adapter features powerful motors to support heavier lenses and offers a bulge-less design to accommodate use with a tripod. Compared to the previous model, this adapter delivers faster and quieter focusing operations.

Version II Upgrades
This second iteration features a bulge-less, sleeker design for supporting heavier lenses without wobbling.

Instead of using one large motor, this model utilizes four radially positioned, small, and light servo motors for quieter noise and faster focusing speed.

The Techart PRO Leica M Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Autofocus Adapter (Version II) uses only the phase detection autofocus capabilities of the camera, but not the contrast detection, so follow focus when recording video would be weak or non-existent.

The compatibility list shows this to be compatible with the A7Sii. Will it function properly or is phase detection af required?

Techart lists the Techart PRO Leica M-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Autofocus Adapter (Version II) as, Support in camera 3-axis image stabilization and relies on the phase detection AF of the Sony cameras to turn your manual lenses into autofocus lenses. And they do list it compatible with the a7s II.

You can change the camera settings to Manual Focus for that purpose.
