The Techart PRO Leica M Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Autofocus Adapter (Version II) uses only the phase detection autofocus capabilities of the camera, but not the contrast detection, so follow focus when recording video would be weak or non-existent.

The compatibility list shows this to be compatible with the A7Sii. Will it function properly or is phase detection af required?

Techart lists the Techart PRO Leica M-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Autofocus Adapter (Version II) as, Support in camera 3-axis image stabilization and relies on the phase detection AF of the Sony cameras to turn your manual lenses into autofocus lenses. And they do list it compatible with the a7s II.

The Techart PRO Leica M-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Autofocus Adapter (Version II) is only compatible with lenses that have a Leica M mount and cameras that have a Sony E mount.
