The new Leica 35mm F/1.4 Summilux-M has optical ...
The new Leica 35mm F/1.4 Summilux-M has optical connectors and the M 11 cannot read those and cannot determine what lens is attached. How will this be addressed?
The M11 should know and confirm that this new Leica 35mm lens is attached to the camera via its 6-bit coding. You want to make sure the lens is fully mounted (hearing the slight click) when it's attached. To confirm there is nothing out of the ordinary, you can try the lens on another M digital body to see if the lens gets read by the camera and/or try another M lens on your M11 to see if there are any issues with the camera itself. There are no known issues that we have heard with the 6-bit coding of this lens at this time.
If you do the above and find there is an issue/defect with either the lens or the body, please advise B&H you would like return the defected item to them and they will advise the procedure, as long as it is within their return policy window. If it's out of their return window (for the camera), it may need to be sent to Leica's Customer Care dept. in Teaneck NJ to be check out.
