Professional Pedigree
With a feature set that reads like a wish list for serious music makers and content creators, Avid's MBOX Studio brings not only a powerhouse desktop audio interface, but also industry-standard Pro Tools software and a stout pack of rousing plug-ins, virtual instruments, samples, and more. The MBOX Studio's extensive multipurpose I/O and upscale audio quality combine with guitar-centric specialties, streamer friendliness, and pro-level workflow to make your personal studio an audio production mecca.
The Complete Solution
Thoughtfully designed hardware and industry-standard software make the MBOX Studio an impressively well-rounded system that's equally advantageous for producers, musicians, podcasters, voiceover artists, and other creatives.
Team it with the Pro Tools Studio music production DAW (1-year subscription included) or integrate it with your third-party DAW of choice, such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, or Studio One.
The bundled software suite also provides a 1-year subscription to the Sibelius Artist music notation program, Celemony's Melodyne 5 essential pitch and time editor, and SoundFlow Cloud Avid Edition for automating your workflow.
The MBOX Ignition Pack offers emulations of popular guitar and bass amps, stompboxes, compressors, effects, and a classic analog mixing console, as well as sound packs, samples, loops, and more.
High-End Sound
With top-shelf components and high-class 24-bit / 192 kHz converters, MBOX Studio gets you on track to sounding your best. Each mic preamp features Variable Z (adjustable impedance) to allow tonal tweaks right at the input stage, +48V phantom power for condenser mics, an input pad to prevent clipping loud sources, a rumble-reducing high-pass filter, and switchable polarity. Thanks to its built-in DSP, MBOX Studio delivers low-latency monitoring with real-time effects, ensuring optimal cue mixes for every tracking session.
Goodies for Guitarists
MBOX Studio is robustly equipped for discerning guitarists and bass players. The presence of an onboard tuner, two Hi-Z inputs with Variable Z tone-shaping options, and respected virtual amps and stomps elevate this interface's direct recording power.
Utilize the FX loops to patch in outboard rack effects or pedals, or feed the impedance-matched reamp out (with switchable ground lift to kill 60-cycle hum) through your own pedalboard and amplifier.
Plugging In
When it comes to connecting your gear, MBOX Studio is stocked. There are four XLR-1/4" combo inputs for mics or line-level signals (two also support Hi-Z instruments), two extra dedicated 1/4" line inputs, and two FX loops in which the returns can be used as two more line inputs, pushing the total number of analog input channels to eight.
All Your Monitoring Needs
Whether you're the artist or the engineer, you'll always hear the mix clearly. MBOX Studio offers main and alternate stereo monitor outputs with linkable level control, two 1/4" headphone outs that support independent cue mixes, and pro-level monitor switching including mute, dim, and mono sum.
Effortlessly communicate from the control room to the tracking space via the integrated talkback mic and dedicated talkback button.
I/O for Streaming and Expansion
Use the Bluetooth input to wirelessly bring in audio from your smartphone for podcast call-in guests or A/B mix comparisons, even while using the Bluetooth output to stream your stereo mix to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones. 5-pin MIDI I/O is on the rear panel in case you need to hook up a synth, beat machine, or keyboard controller. Interconnecting digital equipment is always an option when you factor in the 10 channels of digital I/O—stereo S/PDIF coaxial and multichannel optical (up to 8-channel ADAT or 2-channel S/PDIF).
Empowering Software Included
The Pro Tools Studio DAW excels in music production with its highly regarded audio, MIDI, and notation functions, support for 4K video, and 100+ plug-ins. Plus, Sibelius Artist is prime for writing music or scoring for TV and film. Utilize Melodyne 5 essential to perfect the pitch and timing of your audio tracks, speed up routine tasks by automating your workflow with SoundFlow Cloud Avid Edition, and access over $2000 worth of plug-ins, music and sound libraries, training materials, and more via Avid's Inner Circle.
