The KIPON Baveyes Focal Reducer Mamiya 645-XD 0.8x is part of a series of adapters that bring the medium format Mamiya 645 optics to Hasselblad X1D mount cameras, virtually eliminating any crop factor image loss and maintaining the diagonal angle of view. The adapter reduces the focal length by 0.8 and multiplies the focal length by 0.8 based on the original, so the effective focal length becomes shorter and the shooting range is larger. Using the 0.8x adapter is similar to using these lenses on original cameras.

Using three groups of five optical lenses, f/2.8 is turned into f/2 so that the depth of field has more blur. For some lenses, using the 0.8x focal reducer improves the lens quality.
