American DJ Metal Barndoors for PAR-64 Cans

Cost Effective, they get the job done.

I have had a set of four Par-64, 1000W, floods from an old theater for a very long time. Although they are hot, and blow most house hold fuses when I run all four, they work great for creating 3200k light, flooding in thru big windows. Recently I had a job where I needed to control the light better and I found these cost effective barn doors. They are a sloppy fit but they slide into the slots with the gel frames. I have to be careful with handling them because they come close to falling out of the slots. I would not use these doors in an actual theater for risk of them falling but for movie sets, where I'm the gaffer, they work fine. The barn doors also allow me to clip cheap, colored cellophane to the doors. The heat is not as intense as using the gel frames, which require high temp gels. I didn't want to invest much into these lights, they are heavy, very hot, high power draw and they don't have fresnels. But they are free.
