I didn't hire a professional installer to install this and did this myself and because I'm not even a hobbyist electrician, I had to install this twice because I hadn't screwed one of the wires tight enough against the terminal. I wish the installation video was a bit more descriptive to a complete dummy. I'm glad at least I knew how to turn off the electricity to the chimebox and front door. Otherwise, I would've fried myself. The product itself is decent. Nothing to write home about and honestly, the design is less appealing than the previous non-Google version. Construction is decent and once installed correctly, feels sturdy enough. The video quality is lower than what I had expected but good enough to be able to recognize faces and movement. My biggest problem is with the app that connects with this. Along with the newer Google Nest Camera, Google Hub, etc the app compared to the Nest app is terrible. I wish the Nest app would still being used and developed. With the Google Home app, scrolling to an event and trying to pinpoint a scene is close to impossible. Settings are buried and so much of the UX just keeps me going around in circle. I still have a few connected items from Nest that uses the Nest app and that is awesome. UX is great. The surface is not cluttered or confusing. If I had my choice, I'd probably buy the older Nest doorbell as opposed to the updated Google Nest Doorbell just so that I can use the Nest app instead of the Google Home app.

Wired version works better in cold weather

I already had Nest Doorbell battery and loved it. But unfortunately it stops working in Minnesota winters. So I purchased the wired version. It works perfectly and google now allows to view live video from browser as well, which was something which everyone requested.
