Sony ZV-1F Reviews
I want to throw this camera off my roof
This camera gives me problems on almost every use. I bought this to record my DJ sets and have the flexibility to use it via the computer with obs or directly while having it plugged in to power and an audio input. This seemed to be the best option to provide those capabilities while having a decent sensor for low light, and at an affordable price. When it works it does a fine job, especially in the low light, although I wish it had a wider angle (even with after maket from newer which is great itâs just not wide enough for my liking). Letâs cover the issues. 1. When hooked up to computer it only records in 720p 2. When not hooked to computer and powered by a usb power supply it frequently overheats and shuts off. 3. I bought an aftermarket battery that has a power cable and regulator to resolve the power heat issue, unfortunately the battery door doesnât close with it and Iâve had the battery fall out or cable unplug multiple times causing me to loose 6hrs of footage (cause it always seems to happen at the end) 4. About 30% of the time I wind up recording in slow motion! Nothing like having 6hrs of a DJ set in slow motion! Idk why the controls make it so easy for this to happen and there is little to no notification of it being in a slow motion recording mode. The audio input frequently will only record on 1 channel. This seems to be consistent with certain 1/8â to rca cables that have been verified to work properly, just not with this camera. Controls are too sensitive and not intuitive. Forget the iphone control, itâs basically useless. If youâre going around taking short clips I think itâs probably fine, but for what Iâm doing Iâm so ready to throw this thing off my roof after another night of an 80gb corrupted video file!
