I needed a 43mm hood for a Nikon Nikkor-S.C 5cm ƒ1.4 lens. This one is perfect. And, with a 40.5-43mm step-up ring, it works with Nikon Nikkor-H.C 5cm ƒ2, Jupiter-3 (50/1.5), and Jupiter-8 (50/2). Inexpensive enough to buy a second one (w/ or w/o a step-up ring) to minimize hood swaps between lenses. Recommended.

It is metal and sturdy but keep in mind that it is a screw type. I just put it on my TTArtisan lens prior to going out instead of thinking that I will take it on and off.

Hi, If I screw on this hood to a lens, can I still put the original lens cap on the hood? Thanks.
No, unfortunately, when using the TTartisan 43mm Round Lens Hood, it will use the 43mm filter thread on a lens with a 43mm threading and it will no longer be accessible, making any such 43mm lens cap unable to be mounted before removing the hood.
