Q7: The Portable Desktop-Class Headphone Amplifier
Audiophiles and audio enthusiasts looking for a portable amplifier with the power of a desktop unit should look no further than the FiiO Q7 Portable Desktop-Class Headphone Amplifier, a true fusion of quality desktop components packed into a portable enclosure. The Q7 redefines what a portable amp can be and sets a new benchmark not only for FiiO portable products, but for all portable products.
Powerful Features
The Q7 features a switchable power system which provides 3000mW of power for its enhanced over-ear headphone mode, while the portable mode outputs 1500mW. Originally designed for desktop usage, the THX AAA 788+ amplifier features a 4-way true balanced amplifier circuit with five levels of mixed gain, which effortlessly powers all kinds of headphones for a pure listening experience. The Q7 ships with a leatherette case, cooling stand, USB power cable, power adapter, AC power cord, USB adapter, two USB-C to USB-C data cables (long/short), and a lightening cable.
Desktop-Level Connectivity
The Q7 is equipped to handle any situation with USB, optical, and coaxial inputs, and has two single-ended headphone outputs (1/4"/3.5mm) and two balanced headphone outputs (4.4/2.5mm), plus a line output too.
Desktop-Caliber Power Supply
  • The Q7 can be operated in either DC or battery-powered modes. Under the battery-powered mode, the 9200mAH battery is up to the task of powering the Q7 output up to 1500mW of power. Under DC-power-supply mode, the battery is bypassed to protect the battery's life, while the custom 24W low-noise power supply effortlessly drives a wide variety of headphones with aplomb.
  • The five-stage audio circuit features 20 LDOs and a 470mF high-capacity, ultralow ESR supercapacitor in order to provide endless reserves of power in order to maintain stable high-quality audio at all times.
Desktop-Grade Decoding
  • 16-Core XMOS XU316: Dual audio clocks, ultralow latency, 768 kHz, DSD512, and MQA full decoding
  • High-end DAC ES9038PRO: Four channels connected in parallel for one differential output provides excellent resolution
  • Qualcomm QCC5124: Bluetooth receiver with support for hi-res Bluetooth formats like LDAC, and APTX Adaptive, aptX LL, and aptx HD
FiiO Digital Control Core
FiiO upgraded their self-developed digital control core center, which utilizes a control chip powered by an ARM Cortex M4 processor that efficiently handles tasks such as clock management, USB decoding, and optical decoding, to optimize sound quality. To further enhance sound quality, the digital and analog sections are physically separated on different boards with shield covers to achieve an extremely pure sound, for a superb listening experience.

The Q7 continues FiiO's modern design language, featuring a bold next-generation mech design complemented by tasteful color lights for a thoroughly technologically modern appearance.

Fantastic Audiophile Dac/Amp!

I purchased the Fiio Q7 from BH Photo recently after researching many different choices. I finally settled on the Q7 based on the actual specifications. Now, I will say I'm using the Q7 one hundred percent at home and while I'm laying on the couch or the bed. I'd say it's very convenient for that. If you're looking for a portable dac/amp to take on the bus or to the gym I'd probably look elsewhere as the Q7 is too big for your pocket. The power and sound that comes out of the Q7 is insane. I have a couple of planar magnetic headphones that are very power hungry and the Q7 handles them with ease. On battery, you get 1.5 watts per channel and when plugged into the wall you get a whopping 3 watts per channel. I'm not an audio engineer but I can tell you the Q7 has taken my headphones to a new level of audio quality. I love this dac/amp so much I quickly purchased another one as a backup. A big shout out to B&H Photo. Their customer service is world class. They responded to my inquiries quickly and shipping was lightening fast. Also, which I think is very important, they are an authorized Fiio dealer so I know I'm getting an authentic Fiio product. I'm listening to the Q7 through my smartphone both wired and sometimes with Bluetooth and the sound is stellar both ways. If you want top of the line audiophile sound I'd say look no further.
