ASUS ROG Rapture GT6 Reviews
Conquering Thick Walls with the ROG Rapture GT6
“We live in a concrete-cinderblock house with thick walls that kill Wi-Fi. Our cable internet struggled to reach the far end, leaving us with spotty video calls, buffering TVs, and laggy gaming. I asked Grok to recommend a mesh system based on our setup, usage (work, streaming, gaming), and budget. It ranked the ROG Rapture GT6 as the best fit, and it’s been a game-changer. Setup took a little effort—syncing the modem required a reboot sequence—but it’s worth it. The GT6’s dedicated mesh backbone keeps the router and node talking on a separate band, so our devices get full speed. No more bandwidth battles, even with 4K streaming and video calls running together. Dead zones are gone, and everything’s smooth, even through our thick walls. Great value for anyone needing reliable Wi-Fi in a tough space.”
Better mesh system
My old mesh routers worked fine but were end of life and therefore a security risk and had to be replaced. My main router was still supported so I kept that device, and replaced the two end of life units with this 2 pack of GT-6's. I'm glad I did. My internet speeds are faster throughout the house, and my devices are supported and still getting patched by ASUS. The only negative of the upgrade is that the GT-6's have 3 LAN ports instead of 4, and I think that is a mistake. My old mesh routers had 4 LAN ports and yes I actually used them in one area of the house.
