Helping to improve shooting stability, the Sony GP-VPT2BT Wireless Shooting Grip is a convenient tool that serves as both a larger grip for handheld shooting as well as a sleek tabletop tripod. Compatible with select Sony cameras featuring Bluetooth connectivity, this grip offers wireless control over select shooting controls, via built-in shutter release and video record buttons, a zoom rocker switch, and a customizable C1 button. Beyond serving as just an accessory grip, the grip itself can be splayed into three legs and function as a tripod for hands-free shooting. The integrated head can tilt upward 80° (40° when setup as a tripod), downward 90°, and rotate 360° for easier positioning. Additionally, the grip is dust and moisture-resistant to suit its use with select weather-sealed cameras.

Not only provides a good handhold for a distinctly small camera but it's also a very handy tabletop tripod. I also found it very easy to link to the camera via Bluetooth.

Since buying this product, filming / vloging has been so much easier. I love how well the tripod works and the quality of the material is great. Having the ability to take photos, start video and zoom in and out, all on one hand makes this product well worth it. Super easy to pair to any sony.

What, if anything, does the zoom control do when used with the a7c?
Asked by: James
You would need a lens with built-in Power Zoom capabilities in order to use the zoom feature on the Sony GP-VPT2BT Wireless Shooting Grip with the Sony Alpha α7C Mirrorless Digital Camera. Otherwise, when using a lens that requires you to manually zoom the lens, the zoom control would have no effect. The only E-mount lenses with built-in Power Zoom capability would be the Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Lens, B&H # SO165035, the Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens, B&H # SO181054, or the Sony E PZ 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens, B&H # SO18200PZ, all which are designed for the smaller APS-C sensor, and would not fully cover a full-frame sensor. As such, you would have to use the APS-C Crop Mode feature in the camera when using the above lenses. The only Power Zoom lens for the full-frame sensor would be the Sony FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 G OSS Lens, B&H # SO281354, which is a cinema lens.
