Designed for prosumers and professionals shooting with single- and dual-slot DSLR, mirrorless, and cinema cameras, this 256GB Extreme PRO UHS-II SDXC Memory Card from SanDisk lets you capture cinema-quality 6K, 4K, and Full HD video with standard and slow motion frame rates, as well as raw photos, time-lapse images, and continuous shutter bursts. This card has a storage capacity of 256GB and takes advantage of the UHS-II bus to support read speeds of up to 280 MB/s and write speeds of up to 150 MB/s. Thanks to the V60 Video Speed Class rating, write speeds won't drop below 60 MB/s.

UHS-II media achieves its speed through an extra row of pins and, while this card has been designed for cameras that are UHS-II / V60 compatible, it may be used in devices that do not support UHS-II / V60. However, bear in mind that this card will then default to your device's speed class and bus rating, such as UHS-II and V30, which supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s, or UHS-I and U3, which also supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s. If your device does not support U3, this card is compatible with the U1 and Class 10 standards, each of which guarantees minimum write speeds of 10 MB/s.

Built for extreme conditions, SanDisk's 256GB Extreme PRO UHS-II SDXC Memory Card is protected against water, temperature extremes, humidity, wear, shock, drops, x-rays, and magnets. Also featured is a built-in write-protect switch that helps to safeguard your content from being erased.

The Extreme PRO is protected by a limited lifetime warranty. A free download of RescuePRO Deluxe software is available and valid for two years.

SanDisk 256GB UHS-II SDXC Reviews

Reliable & fast

I have had consistent good luck with SanDisk cards and so far this one is no exception. It isn't the fastest current generation (that would be V90 speed) but at less than half the price this is more than enough for me doing fast shooting (including some high speed & pro capture work). I don't do much video so haven't experimented to find the limits there.

Excellent.

Perfect for my R6. I have had no issues taking multiple photos of wildlife. No issues with loss of data. Will keep buying from BHphoto. I'm pretty sure a couple of cards from Amazon were causing my camera to lock up. Hasn't happened with the UHS-II

SanDisk is well-known, and, after reading about the various types of memory cards, branded and off-branded, I decided to go with a branded one that seems very reliable. At 128 GB it is not the largest, but it is always good to upload pictures rather than keep them on the card, so you really do not need a massively sized card, even for videos. This works as advertised and seems reliable.

Use this in a Canon R6 to get high rate of stills capture. On typical bursts (shooting birds/wildlife), lets the buffer clear up quickly between my brsts so I can get the next burst off without ever seeing a full buffer.

Is this card fast enough to record 4k video at 120 fps on Canon R3?
Asked by: Dieu
Hi all, Thanks for your help. I already own a SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Type B that I use for photo currently. I wanted to use the second SD slot of the R3 (With a good SD card write/read speed, with at least 256Go/512Go) for video recording. But may be that's not the best solution for video recording on the R3? Sorry, I never did record video before, and plan to do so from time to time.
