The All-in-One Streaming Solution
Combining a professional audio interface and a video capture card in one ultracompact, intuitive package, the Streamer X from RODE X represents a new way to livestream incredible, broadcast-quality audio and video. Sporting a studio-grade audio input for mic- or line-level sources, a low-noise, high-gain Revolution preamp with selectable phantom power, and powerful onboard APHEX audio processing, the Streamer X makes it easy to deliver pristine audio quality to your streams, and the Streamer X even features integrated wireless-receiver technology for compatibility with any RODE Series IV wireless microphones and transmitters.

Of course, modern streamers and content creators need quality video to keep up with the competition as well, and that's why the Streamer X also features HDMI I/O that supports up to 4K 30 fps and 2K 60 fps streaming, and up to 2K 120 fps and 4K 60 fps pass-through for exceptional video quality that will enhance any modern application from gaming, streaming, and podcasting to video content creation and corporate presentations. Two dedicated USB-C connections allow for dual-PC setups, and with the four customizable SMART pads, you can trigger sounds, voice FX, and other types of engaging material on the fly. And if that's not enough, you can expand your console's functionality with full compatibility for all of RODE's software solutions, such as UNIFY, RODE Central, and RODE Connect.

Flexible I/O
Despite its compact size, the Streamer X sports just the right amount of connections to facilitate most livestreaming applications.

  • An XLR-1/4" combo input jack with a Revolution preamp and selectable 48V phantom power
  • A 1/4" headphone output for monitoring your streams
  • A 3.5mm headset output to join in on your streaming and produce more engaging content
  • HDMI input and output/through for streaming and passing through high-quality, 4K video
  • Two USB-C connections for dual-computer setups
  • A third USB-C connection for convenient bus power
  • A Kensington security slot to keep your Streamer X secure during use in public spaces
Intuitive Interface
The interface is designed to be simple yet powerful with easy-to-use colorful buttons and knobs. Two color-coded knobs let you control your audio input and headphone output.

Multicolor customizable SMART pads allow you to trigger sounds and vocal FX in real time, and you can switch through multiple banks of sounds via the arrow buttons. You can activate or deactivate audio or video content directly with the two dedicated front-panel buttons.

Tiny Footprint, Huge Potential
The Streamer X provides incredible streaming potential in a miniscule form factor that is supremely easy to transport and will take up an absolute minimum of your workspace real estate. Whether used in the comfort of your home studio or in a live public setting, the Streamer X is compact, efficient, and attractive.

Yes, the RODE X Streamer X Audio Interface and Video Streaming Console can be used with Sennheiser HD 600 Headphones, but a separate headphone amplifier will be needed because the HD 600 have a higher impedance level than the Streamer X can accommodate.

What is the colour space via HDMI and USB? 8-bit or 10-bit? (Asking for chroma keying reasons.)

The manufacturer has not provided a complete list of specifications at this time for the RODE X Streamer X Audio Interface and Video Streaming Console. No information is provided for color space via HDMI. The only bit depth specification that has been provided is for the audio, which is 24-bit. HDMI I/O supports up to 4K 30 fps and 2K 60 fps streaming.

Does it incorporate adjustable audio delay in order to lip-sync the video (like in the Black Magic ATEM series)?
Asked by: Terence
Yes, unfortunately a 3rd party software solution such as OBS adds another layer of complexity, and you are now tethered to a computer, which is why I use an ATEM switcher. Once set up it can be computer independent. The main attraction of the Rode switcher is its battery / remote capability in a compact hardware switcher. However, without adjustable audio delay in the firmware it defeats why I would buy this unit. If Rode ever adds this feature it would make an excellent, stand-alone, remote broadcast box I would have a use for.
