CatLABS DEVAM Overview

The Dev.a Compact Automatic Film Processor from CatLABS is small enough in size but efficient enough to be the backbone for a full-service photo lab. The device can cover both color and black and white film processing as well as both negatives and positives and uses six different chemistry tanks that each have their own taps on the front of the device to recover the chemistry mix. This item employs the use of a fully automatic rotary film processing system.

User Interface
Features a 7" touchscreen and intuitive user interface.
Allows you to import and export your settings and processes to a USB drive so you can have a backup of your data.
Provides presets and customizable controls.
Offers up to 100 custom processes, each of which can be stored directly to the machine.
For complete darkness in your darkroom, the display and the status LED can be completely turned off without shutting the machine down. This way you can keep printing or doing other darkroom work even if the machine is processing film in the background.
The display frame is hinged on the top plate and can swivel in and out. This way, when you don't need to use it, the screen can rest flat against the machine body out of the way.
Chemistry and Temperature Control
Supports most still photography development processes, covering both black and white and color film as well as both negatives and positives.
Provides 6 different chemistry tanks that can be filled with 6 different chemicals.
Enables users to recover chemistry using the taps on the front of the machine.
Maintains precise and effective temperature controls for C-41 and E-6 color processes.
Film Tanks
Film rotation is provided by magnets. The base of the inner column of the tank contains eight magnets that, when the tank is inserted into the machine, are coupled with other eight magnets mounted on a motor. When the motor spins, the film spins as well.
For 35mm and 120 rolls, tanks are compatible with Jobo-series 1500 reels or with Paterson/AP reels.
For large format processing, separately-purchased reels are available.
Rotation parameters, such as speed and inversion interval, can be configured via software.
Optional film tanks come in three different sizes to support processing needs as efficiently as possible.

Does all used chemistry, including fixer, drain from the same waste port? Is there an option to drain used fixer separate?
Asked by: Antoinette
The drains on the CatLABS Dev.a Compact Automatic Film Processor are separate so you can decide if you want to drain or reuse any of it after the process is complete.
