HDMI 2.1, Thunderbolt 4, and USB 3.2 Gen 2
The built-in HDMI 2.1 port on the Echo 20 allows you to plug in an external display up to 8K @ 60 Hz directly. The Echo 20 also features three Thunderbolt 4 ports, one for connecting to your host device and the other two for directly connecting Thunderbolt peripherals and accessories. The two Thunderbolt 4 ports support USB4 and USB 3.2 devices and even provides up to 15W of power. Also available are four USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 and four USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports.

Please note that HDMI 2.1 is only supported in Windows.
2.5 Gb Ethernet
Featuring 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, the Echo 20 supports a 2.5 Gb/s link speed over common Cat 5e (or better) cabling when used with a compatible Ethernet switch or NAS with 2.5Gb Ethernet support. This saves you the trouble of having to invest in an Ethernet adapter. Need to connect to a switch without 2.5Gb Ethernet support? The Sonnet dock can also supports 1 Gb/s and 100 Mb/s link speeds.
M.2 SSD Slot
The built-in M.2 NVMe SSD slot enables you to add up to 8TB of SSD storage (sold separately) to your system without having to connect a storage device to your Echo 20 or upgrading your computer. Installing the SSD is easy and straightforward. Simply remove the two screws securing a bottom panel cover, insert the SSD, and reinstall the bottom cover with the two screws. Transfer and access data at up to 800 MB/s, and effortlessly store large files, media libraries, or your Time Machine backups.
Thunderbolt Certified
The Echo 20 is certified for use with Apple M series Macs, Thunderbolt 3 Intel Macs, Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 Windows computers, Thunderbolt 3 Windows computers with an Intel 8th Gen (2018) or newer CPU, Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 Chromebook computers, and M series iPad Pro.

Do I need an active cable to run one 4K monitor? What about two 4k monitors and hard drives?
Asked by: Alan
The Sonnet Echo 20 Thunderbolt 4 SuperDock has a single HDMI 2.1 output, which will work with any HDMI 2.1 cable to send a 4K video signal to a monitor. You could then use one of the three Thunderbolt 4 ports to send a second 4K signal to the second monitor so long as it has a USB-C, HDMI, or DisplayPort input. Hard drives can also be connected to the Sonnet Echo 20 Thunderbolt 4 SuperDock via Thunderbolt cables, USB-C cables, or USB-A cables.
