Will my Imac read this external device, it being 20TB?
Asked by: Kobina
The Seagate 20TB IronWolf Pro 7200 rpm SATA III Internal NAS HDD (CMR) BH #SEST20000NE0 is an internal drive, not external. If you buy an external enclosure for 3.5'' SATA HDD like the Oyen Digital Novus USB Type-C Rugged 3.5" HDD Enclosure BH #OY3N1CBL then you can use it externally with an iMac.

Is it compatible with nas synology DS920+?
Asked by: Daniela
This drive is not on the Synology compatibility list or update list. I called Synology support to ask since I had carelessly unwrapped the drives before confirming they were on the list. The Synology tech checked for any service tickets involving this model number and did not find any reports of problems. He further advised that they would be good to go if the NAS recognized the drives and allowed installation. The disk appears to be initializing as I write this. If anything bad happens, I will update.

What's the difference between buying multiple single drives vs the 2- or 4-pack?
Asked by: Matthew
There is no difference between the Seagate 16TB IronWolf Pro 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" Internal NAS HDD (CMR, Retail, 4-Pack) and single packaged versions. This bundle is just for convenience when ordering sets of drives for a NAS or DAS.

I intend to hook up 4 of these as part of a RAID 0 array to boost performance speeds while doing photo editing and graphics intensive work. Is this ideal for RAID 0, or are they better options out there? WD Black or Seagate Barracuda Pro perhaps?
Asked by: Tommy
The Seagate 6TB IronWolf Pro 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" Internal NAS HDD (Retail) BH #SEST6000N000 is a good option for a RAID array and although they are designed as NAS drives, they would work in a desktop environment just as well. The Barracuda Pro and WD Black would also be good options and designed specifically for desktop use.
