Sigma 14mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Overview
Specifically designed for astrophotography, this 14mm f/1.4 lens provides a vast 114° angle of view on full-frame cameras. The lens is also compatible with APS-C models where it produces a full-frame equivalent focal length of 21mm.
Optimized for nighttime shooting, the lens includes a tripod socket, manual focus lock switch, lens heater retainer, rear filter holder, and filter slots to assist in astrophotography applications.
1 SLD (Special Low Distortion), 3 FLD (Low Dispersion), and 3 aspherical elements combine to achieve outstanding sharpness, while also eliminating sagital coma flare, which distorts the shapes of stars. The optical design and super multicoating also minimize ghosting and flare when shooting starry skies and long exposure night scenes.
Equipped with an HLA (High-Response Linear Actuator) autofocus motor, the lens provides fast, quiet, and highly-accurate focusing.
Dedicated aperture switch enabling clicked and de-clicked operation.
The lens is constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material, along with traditional metals for use in a wide array of temperature variations.
A durable brass bayonet mount ensures the lens is locked in place.
Includes built-in lens hood.

Sigma 14mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Reviews
Fantastic lens for astrophotography!

The attached photo says it all. This is 2 minute tracked exposure taken at f/1.4 with a modified Nikon Z6ii at ISO 800. The performance of the lens is excellent across the field of view with only a little coma and some astigmatism in the corners. Manual focus was a breeze. The lens is extremely well made and Sony E mount version works perfectly on a Nikon Z when paired with the Megadap adapter.

I think the photos speak for themselves. First outing with this lens to Idaho. Sony A7 IV body. 20 sec. exposure time. Amazing results. If you want to do this type of photography, this lens has no peer.

Can I use the megadap2 adaptor with this lens for the Nikon Z ?
You can use it. A few things to consider though, you should support from the lens + body when using handheld. It's heavier than megadap recommendation for 800g lens. The lens has a tripod socket so when mounted on a tripod, the adapter would be supporting the body which is again 800g. It should be fine. I am even considering going this route maybe. It is slightly above manufacturer recommendation so don't go dangling this lens holding onto the body alone for extended periods of time.

Does this lens have a crop factor on full frame E mount cameras?
The Sigma 14mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens (Sony E) does not have a crop factor on a full-frame camera. The crop factor depends on the size of the sensor, not the lens. All lenses do not have a crop factor on all full-frame cameras and have a crop factor on all APS-C size sensor cameras.

What size Front Lens Cover is required, if I want a spare?
The design of the Sigma 14mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens (Sony E) prevents it from working with a generic lens cap. It only works with this one, Sigma Lens Cap Cover for 14mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens, BH #SILC101401 • MFR #LC1014-01.
