With a 15" woofer and 1" tweeter, where does that leave the mid-range frequencies? Is there a gap in between?
Asked by: Doug
Two-way speakers do not leave a gap in frequency response. The two drivers are separated by a crossover, which divides the frequency spectrum (within the limits of the speaker's frequency response range) with two filter curves to create a seamless transition between both drivers. Two-way speakers are by far the most common design for studio monitors, portable point-source speakers like the iHome iHPA-1500-LT, etc. There is generally no need for a dedicated mid-range driver.
