What is the speed / class of the included USB-C Cable? Is it Thunderbolt 3 or higher?
The Crucial 4TB X9 Pro USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD comes with a USB-C cable that can support USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds. Please note that Thunderbolt 3 is a different technology and is not available with this drive.

What's the difference between this x9 and the non-Mac? Couldn't you just purchase a non-Mac x9 and format it for Mac?
You are correct, both version of the Crucial 4TB X9 Pro, the Crucial 4TB X9 Pro USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD for Mac (BH #CRX9PM4TBSSD) and the Crucial 4TB X9 Pro USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD (BH #CR4TBX9PRO9), are compatible with both Mac and PC. The only difference is the format that the drive ships in. The Crucial 4TB X9 Pro USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD for Mac is shipped out in a Mac APFS format where as the Crucial 4TB X9 Pro USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD ships out formatted in exFAT.

The performance of the Crucial 2TB X9 Pro USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD for Mac, B&H # CR2X9PRMAC9B, would be limited to USB 2.0 Speeds (480mbps) if you use it with a Lightning to USB adapter so it would be significantly slower than using it with a device that has USB C 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) connection.
