Made with adjustable side panels that secure with a rubber band for a snug fit, the filter meets the ISO 12312-2 safety standard, blocking 99.999% of intense light and all harmful IR and UV radiation—but revealing sunspots and super granules on the solar surface and the corona during an eclipse. Made to fit on the front lenses of telescopes, spotting scopes, or other optics and imaging devices, the Universal Solar Filter can accommodate housings, sunshades, and dew shields with an outside diameter from 75-100mm (3-4"). The filter has a clear aperture of 63.5mm. The filter is not for use with optical viewfinders—do not use it if you aren't sure which kind of viewfinder your camera has. Always make sure this filter is placed directly on the camera lens during imaging, never between the viewfinder and your eye.

Celestron says “ Never use this filter if your camera has an optical viewfinder.” Does that mean to not use it on a Nikon D500?
Asked by: Michael
Because the Nikon D500 viewfinder is looking through the lens that is filtered, it is safe to use the Celestron EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter for Optics 75mm to 100mm with your camera.

I do not recommend using the Celestron EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter for Optics 75mm to 100mm on the Celestron Skymaster 15x70 binoculars. Please follow the link below leading to a better alternative. https://bit.ly/3HLFgY6 I recommend using extreme caution while using any folded design filters on a windy day.

Could I put this on a Micro 4/3rds camera w/Flip out OLED display (and telephoto lens)??
Asked by: Mike
The Celestron EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter for Optics 75mm to 100mm, is technically too big a filter for most Micro Four Thirds camera lenses. If you had a lens that was as big as 62mm- 72mm filter mount , you could use the Celestron EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter for Optics 75mm to 100mm.You may need to use some gaffers tape to keep it in place.

Can I use this on a Nikkor 200-500mm lens on a Nikon Z6?
Asked by: Michael
The outside diameter of the Nikon 200-500mm lens is too large to fit the Celestron filter. You can use this Haida instead: https://bhpho.to/38vHAQw

The Celestron EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter for Optics 75mm to 100mm will fit on the front of the lens as long as your lens is between 75mm and 100mm in outside diameter. The filter would not be near the camera so it would not affect the use of the a flip screen.
