Wavo PRO vs Wavo PRO DS
The Wavo PRO features most of the mechanical and electronic components built into the Wavo PRO DS, and adds some advanced functions such as active noise reduction, digital app-based sound management, and an external secondary mic input. This not only gives content creators a clean and punchy sound, but also let's them dive deep into audio settings and refined adjustments.
Built for Demanding Creators
The compact shape and aluminum construction testify the JOBY ambition to provide premium products for the most demanding creators, to match high-end mirrorless cameras with functional, performing, and well-built accessories.
App-Based Sound Management
The dedicated Wavo PRO app (iOS and Android) offers full control and remote monitoring of your sound from your smartphone. Dual mode EQ appeals to both entry-level and pro users, and settings—parametric EQ, pads, filters, and more)—can be customized and shared with others.
Active Noise Reduction
ANR (active noise reduction) technology done with onboard processing cleans sound on the go. This special function removes self-generated structural noise from the mic, yielding a more professional sound.
Secondary Mic Input
The side-panel 3.5mm input lets you add an external mic (in stereo mode) such as the separately available Wavo Lav PRO, creating an ideal interview setup with one lapel mic and one shotgun mic recorded to separate channels on the same device.
Onboard Gain Adjustment
A three-stage gain control (0, +10, or +20 dB) aids in getting a great recording level to any camera.
Safety Track Recording
Distortion can ruin a perfectly good take. So, the Wavo PRO provides an activatable safety track mode. Ideal when recording two channels (left and right) on your device, the safety track mode routes a duplicate of the main mic signal at -10 dB to one of the channels. Even if the main channel distorts, the secondary channel will be clean.
USB or Battery Powered
Forget about changing batteries. The Wavo PRO can run for up to 60 hours (50 hours with active noise reduction engaged) on its internal USB-rechargeable battery. Alternatively, it can be powered via a USB connection to a power bank or laptop computer.
Analog and Digital Outputs
Connect the mic's traditional 3.5mm TRS analog output to the mic input of your camera, DSLR, or camcorder using the supplied TRS cable. Or use the USB Type-C digital output when you want to record straight to a computer or mobile device equipped with a corresponding USB Type-C port.
Rycote Lyre Shockmount
A high-performing Rycote Lyre shockmount absorbs vibration from stand/pole/camera handling to produce a clean, broadcast-ready sound.
Included Accessories
In addition to the 3.5mm TRS camera cable, the Wavo PRO is supplied with a USB Type-C cable for charging and computer connectivity, a foam windscreen that reduces "rustling" noise from light wind, and a furry windshield for outdoor wind protection.
