The Smoke Ninja utilizes a food-safe formula (VG and PG) and includes an easy-to-replace rechargeable 18650 lithium-ion battery. The kit includes a remote control, an atomizing smoke chamber, 100mL of smoke formula refill, four precision smoke-shaping nozzles, a liquid smoke nozzle, a jet tip nozzle, a USB-C charging cable, a 1/4"-20 mount adapter, a magnetic mount, a silicone cap, and a protective case that fits everything.

This also shows the rate of recovery, so you know exactly when the machine is ready to work for you again.
Highly Efficient Chamber Technology
The Smoke NINJA is highly efficient and only consumes 0.5mL of smoke liquid per minute, delivering 200 minutes on a single 100mL bottle. Additionally, the chamber will deliver 100 hours of use.

The PMI SmokeGENIE Smoke Ninja Handheld Battery-Powered Wireless Mini Smoke Machine is using PMI SmokeGENIE Cloud Formula Fluid Refill which has glycerin in the formula and you may see slight residue if you use it directly on surface or objects in mode like dry ice, but it's easy to clean and safe to use around gear and people.

Will this set off the smoke detectors in a room?

The SmokeGENIE Smoke Ninja Handheld Battery-Powered Wireless Mini Smoke Machine is a Glycerin-based fog. This product will set off electronic smoke detectors including Ionisation/photoelectric/beam type sensors. However, it will not trigger traditional "red glass" type fire sprinklers, which is temperature sensitive.

What is the difference between fog and dry ice? I've been experimenting with both, but I don't think I can tell the difference.

Regarding your question about the PMI SmokeGENIE Smoke Ninja Handheld Battery-Powered Wireless Mini Smoke Machine, fog effects are produced with dry ice or other types of fog machines. The effects are similar to each other.
