Wide Angle of View
With its 8-16mm zoom range, this lens allows for perspectives impossible to achieve with more traditional focal lengths. This wider viewpoint allows you to expertly photograph landscapes and cities by being able to capture all that's available in any given frame. Simultaneously, you can create unique portraits by showing off more of your setting's scenery or by getting up close to your subject and accentuating the distortion that can occur with wider angle lenses.
Sunstar Effect
The lens's five-blade aperture diaphragm, which ranges from f/3.5-5 to f/16, creates a visually appealing 10-pointed sunstar effect.
De-Clickable Aperture Ring
For smooth and seamless aperture transitions while shooting video, utilize the de-clickable aperture ring featured on the lens.
Travel Size
Weighing just over 1 lb, the Laowa 8-16mm is a perfect lens choice for on-the-go photography. With it being designed specifically for mirrorless cameras, this lens gives users an incredibly light camera configuration allowing for comfortable handheld shooting over long periods of time.

I was on a Real Estate shoot and realized I wanted a wide zoom for my Sony a7mk5. Works great for that, and I have to say I wasn't a wide lens fan until I started playing with this, and now it's one of my favorite lenses. I'd like to give a shout out to B&H fast shipping, as I needed this last minute for the job.

Re: James (B&H staff answer above) - yours is a non-answer.
I know it doesn't have pins, I've done my research and this isn't my firs rodeo with fully analog lenses, having owned 4 Laowa lenses already. You CAN provide a quality answer, if you make an effort, here's how:
1) ask the manufacturer. They don't offer this info on product page, but when such a big reseller asks - they're bound to disclose the info to y'all.
2) aperture is a ratio of two on physical measurements: focal length and iris diameter. The latter you can measure with any measuring device once you slap on a (flat) UV filter in front of the (bulbous) front element. The former - you can't directly measure, but you sure can directly and precisely deduce from the field of view (FoV) that you can measure with a test chart and an angle measure.
Now - you can think of excuses or you can take either of these actions and get answers. Also, note - you're uniquely qualified to get answers as (1) you have a much greater position when talking with Laowa than just any individual customer and (2) you have access to physical copies of the lens to make measurements unlike (prospective) customers and (3) it is in your - and community's - interest to obtain these answers as depending on what these specs are the lens may grow in attractiveness

Can it be used with Nikon Z7 II?
Asked by: Pablo
The Venus Optics Laowa 8-16mm f/3.5-5 Zoom CF Lens (NIKON Z) can be used on the Nikon Z7ii, but since it is an APSC lens it will crop the full frame sensor of the Nikon Z7ii. Less than half of the available megapixels will be used. The angle of view will increase by 1.5x
