I am glad I got the case. The case is well made and the lens is protected. They did design the case so you can leave the camera attached. The thick hand hold padding holds the camera to the lens. It is convenient. The camera is not totally protected, but it is a nice feature. The cons are cost of the case, it is not cheap. The lens is long and takes up too much space in my camera bag, so the case is needed to protect the investment. The third con is when you add an Arca Swiss foot to the collar to use on the tripod then the lens barely fits in the case. If they made a collar with a built in Arca Swiss foot this would not be a problem.
