Vaonis Vespera II Overview

Boasting a higher resolution and larger field of view than its predecessor model, the Vespera II Observation Station from Vaonis is a lightweight celestial observation and photography device small enough to fit in a backpack. Smart and fully automated, Vespera II is controlled by a mobile app, with imagery viewed on a tablet or phone rather than through an optical eyepiece. It turns automatically to the celestial object you want to see and tracks it to compensate for the earth's rotation while you observe and take photos.

Rechargeable and weighing just 11 lb, Vespera II makes it easy to explore and observe the night sky anywhere in the world, take your own photos of celestial objects, learn about the cosmos, and share your discoveries in one place. It features autofocus and supports the stacking of live images for enhanced detail and color. Vespera II uses your mobile's GPS, star pattern recognition, and astrometry to calibrate itself. Simply press the button, and you're ready for astronomical observation in about five minutes.

I have a pretty good full tripod for that works with Sony A7 I've and a 50 to 400 mm lens. Is it compatible and adequate?
Asked by: Frederick
The Vaonis Vespera II Observation Station is made to be used on a mini tripod, like this one listed in the accessories for the telescope: https://bhpho.to/4bugbxo. You will be able to mount the Vaonis Vespera II onto a full-size tripod, but you would need to have the legs at a wide angle.

I know Bluetooth is required, but is wifi also needed 'in the field'?
Asked by: Tom
It creates a wifi hotspot which you can connect to. Its supposed to reach 98 ft. radius. I can easily connect with mine while sitting on the couch 70 feet from the backyard. You can also disconnect from it and use your house wifi without having to stop the Vespera.
