External features include a 95mm front outside diameter, 0.8 MOD gears, luminous focus marks in feet, and two locations to attach a 1/4"-20 support foot. Internally, the 11-blade iris produces a smooth, rounded bokeh, and five seals protect against inclement weather and dust.

Cinema Lens Care and Maintenance

To help eliminate aberrations and distortion, the IRIX 30mm T1.5 Cine Lens is constructed with an 11-blade iris, low focus breathing, and a protective nano-coating. This lens has 180° of focus and 75° of iris rotation, an 86mm front filter thread, and it includes front and rear caps.

Cinematic Look

The IRIX Cine 30mm is a wide 43.3mm full-frame lens that uses 13 optical elements to create crisp cinematic shots in resolutions up to 8K while keeping the focus breathing at a minimum. This lens features a relatively fast T1.5 maximum aperture and can be stopped down to T16.

Wide-Angle Lens

Ideal for interviews and medium-wide shots of your subject, the IRIX Cine 30mm produces a 45mm-equivalent when using a cropped sensor.

Rain or shine, the rugged and durable construction of the IRIX Cine 30mm guarantees that you can keep on working with whatever the weather throws at you. The lens is resistant to rain, sand, and dust, so you can take it for your next adventure in a desert or jungle if your camera can handle those environments. Engraved markings on the lens have been filled with UV-reactive paint, so filming in difficult lighting conditions becomes much easier.

All IRIX cinema lenses have very similar dimensions and weight, which enables quick and easy lens changes without the need to change the rest of your setup. The product is equipped with a Magnetic Mounting System (MMS) that lets you connect accessories such as magnetic filters from the Irix Edge lineup or an optional lens hood.

The IRIX Cine 30mm was designed in accordance with the standards of the professional film industry, being the result of a combination of traditional lens solutions and modern innovation. This 30mm has a front filter thread size of 95mm and geared 0.8 MOD rings, which ensures compatibility with most accessories available on the market.

This compact aluminum-magnesium alloy lens has a front external diameter of 95mm to fit most matte boxes and accessories, plus a front Magnetic Mount System (MMS) for rapid filter and hood replacement.

Magnetic Mount System

All IRIX Cine lenses with the Magnetic Mount System are compatible with the separately available IRIX Edge MMS filters and IRIX MMS lens hood. The IRIX Edge magnetic filters have a unique threadless design, so you can be sure that everything stays clean and ready for action. The MMS filters can be stacked together, enabling you to not only freely combine them but to save space when stored. The IRIX Edge MMS filters are made of hardened optical glass (SR) with a multilayer, antireflective nano-coating that makes them easy to clean.

Hi, what torque is required to drive the focus ring on these lenses?

I'm sorry, there isn't a specification given by this (or nearly any) manufacturer to describe the torque needed to turn the focus ring of lenses like the IRIX 30mm T1.5 Cine Lens (Canon EF, Feet) (B&H# IRC30EFI). However, it does turn smoothly and we would describe it as average for a lens of this type. Of course, it will become slightly looser with use.

What benefits, if any, would there be if I purchased the canon mount and used it on a Fuji XH2S with the metabones speedbooster?

The Metabones Canon EF lens to Fuji X-mount adapter would preserve the wide angle of the IRIX 30mm T1.5 Cine Lens as well as boost low light performance by 1 stop when used on crop sensor cameras like the Fuji XH2S. When using the IRIX 30mm lens without a speedbooster the lens would provide a 45mm view. When using the speedbooster the view would be 32mm. This is a manual focus lens. There is no auto focus functions that will work on this lens.

The IRIX 30mm T1.5 Cine Lens (Canon RF, Feet) is designed to cover full frame sensors on Canon RF mount cameras. The IRIX 30mm T1.5 Cine Lens (Canon RF, Feet) will work perfectly on the RED Digital Cinema Komodo-X. All RF mount lenses have compatibility with RED cameras with RF mounts.
