Based on the RDNA 3 architecture and designed to handle the graphical demands of 4K gaming as well as 1440p at high frame rates, the Gigabyte Radeon RX 7900 GRE GAMING OC Graphics Card provides an immersive gaming experience with your PC games. The GPU features 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM and a 256-bit memory interface, offering improved performance and power efficiency over the previous RDNA-based generation.

The front panel of the card features a variety of outputs, such as DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1. DisplayPort 2.1 technology with UHBR 13.5 offers up to 54 Gb/s of display link bandwidth and enables high-refresh 4K (up to 480 Hz) or 8K (up to 165 Hz) gaming on next-gen displays. HDMI 2.1 supports up to 48 Gb/s bandwidth and a range of higher resolutions and refresh rates, including 8K @ 60 fps, 4K @ 120 fps, and even up to 10K.

For cooling, Gigabyte implemented the WINDFORCE cooling system. The cooling system features three 100mm unique blade fans that spin alternately, nine composite copper heat pipes, a large vapor chamber that directly touches the GPU, 3D active fans, and screen cooling, which together provide high efficiency heat dissipation. It also has RGB Fusion, which has customizable color options and a variety of lighting effects. You can also use it to synchronize with other devices.

RDNA 3 Architecture
Featuring an advanced chiplet design, new compute units, and second-generation AMD Infinity Cache technology, AMD RDNA 3 architecture delivers up to 54% more performance per watt than the previous-generation AMD RDNA 2 architecture. New compute units share resources between rendering, AI, and raytracing to make the most effective use of each transistor for faster, more efficient performance than the previous generation.
Chiplet Design
Now with a chiplet design, this GPU delivers up to 15% higher frequencies with up to 54% better power efficiency. It includes the 5nm Graphics Compute Die (GCD) with up to 96 compute units that provide the core GPU functionality. It also includes six of the 6nm Memory Cache Die (MCD), each with up to 16MB of second-generation AMD Infinity Cache technology.
Ultra-Fast Chiplet Interconnect
Unleashing the benefits of 2nd Gen AMD Infinity Cache technology, the chiplets leverage AMD Infinity Links and high-performance fanout packaging to deliver up to 5.3 TB/s of bandwidth.
Expanded Memory and Wider Memory Bus
To meet the growing requirements of today's demanding titles, the GPU features 16GB of high-speed GDDR6 VRAM running at 18 Gb/s over a 256-bit memory bus.
Dedicated AI Acceleration and 2nd-Generation Raytracing
AI instructions and increased AI throughput deliver up to 2.7 times more performance than the previous AMD RDNA 2 architecture, while 2nd-Gen raytracing technology delivers up to 1.8 times more performance than the previous generation.
DisplayPort 2.1 Support
This graphics card supports DisplayPort 2.1 technology with UHBR 13.5, offering up to 54 Gb/s of display link bandwidth and enabling high-refresh 4K (up to 480 Hz) or 8K (up to 165 Hz) gaming on next-gen displays.
AMD Radiance Display Engine
Provides 12 bit-per-channel color for up to 68 billion colors and higher refresh rate displays compared to AMD RDNA 2 architecture and includes support for DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1a.
High-Refresh Gaming
DisplayPort 2.1 provides increased display bandwidth compared to DisplayPort 1.4, with the ability to support up to 900 Hz, 480 Hz, and 165 Hz refresh rates for 1440p, 4K, and 8K displays, respectively.
Dual Media Engine
Supports simultaneous encode or decode streams up to 8K60 for HEVC and supports AV1 encode, delivering up to 1.8 times higher engine frequency than AMD RDNA 2 architecture.
AMD FidelityFX
AMD FidelityFX is an open-source image-quality toolkit comprising of seven different solutions available for game developers to implement into their games that are optimized for AMD RDNA, RDNA 2, and RDNA 3 architectures.
