Designed for law enforcement, the Scion PTM466 Thermal Monocular from FLIR captures video and still photos of subjects in the dark and can transmit encrypted footage to your command center using FLIR's TruWITNESS platform. This weatherproof handheld device uses a 640 x 480 sensor to detect heat signatures, displays them as images, and records them to the device's own 2GB internal memory, which can be expanded with a microSD memory card. The Quad-VGA 1280 x 960 high-definition display includes picture-in-picture zoom for a closer look; overall digital magnification is available at 1x, 2x, 4x, and 8x. The imagery can be viewed in six palettes: White Hot, Black Hot, Iron Bow, Rainbow, Graded Fire, and Lava. Integrated GPS adds valuable geotag information to your imagery.
The Scion PTM466 is built around a Boson 12-micron VOx microbolometer and employs a 36mm lens system. It is IP67-rated waterproof and designed for use in harsh outdoor conditions. Power is supplied by the included rechargeable battery pack, which provides up to 10 hours of runtime. The monocular measures 10.9 x 3 x 2.9" and weighs 28 ounces.
