Watch every aspect of your work spring to life with the powerful and precise UltraSharp 39.7" 2160p HDR 120 Hz Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor from Dell. Driven by Thunderbolt 4 technology, this display is able to deliver video, data, network connectivity, daisy-chaining for a second 5K display, and charge your device with up to 140W of power, all using its integrated Thunderbolt 4 port and a single Thunderbolt 4 cable. Thanks to the WUHD 5120 x 2160 resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio, and wide 178° viewing angles, this display is the equivalent of having two 2560 x 2160 displays side by side.

Dell's UltraSharp 39.7" features an HDMI 2.1 input, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, a 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 4 downstream port that provides 15W of charging power and can be used for daisy-chaining a second display, and a second 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 4 port that supports DisplayPort 1.4 and power delivery up to 140W. There is also one 10 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 upstream port, two 10 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 downstream ports with 15W of charging power, five 10 Gb/s USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one of which supports device charging, and a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port for network connectivity. Audio from HDMI or DisplayPort sources may be output using the dual 9W speakers or 3.5mm output, which does not support headphones.

Also featured is an anti-glare panel with IPS Black technology, a 120 Hz refresh rate, support for 1.07 billion colors (8-bit + A-FRC), coverage for 100% of the sRGB, 100% of the Rec. 709, and 99% of the DCI-P3 and Display P3 color gamuts, a static contrast ratio of 2000:1, 600 nits peak brightness with VESA DisplayHDR 600, 450 nits of typical brightness, and 8 ms (normal) / 5 ms (fast) GtG response times. Using the 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles, it is possible to watch content from virtually any position. To further help improve viewing and accessibility, the display features a vertical tilt of -5 to 21°, a swivel of 60° (±30°), and a 5.9" height adjustment. If you'd like to attach this display to a wall, there is an integrated 100 x 100mm VESA mount.

Please note that the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 upstream port must be connected to your host system when the HDMI or DP ports are in use. It is to enable USB communication between the monitor downstream devices and the host.

can I plug in two MBP into this screen via USB-C ...

can I plug in two MBP into this screen via USB-C and expect them to charge and do switch display? and share a mouse/kb via kvm?
Asked by: Rob
I own the Dell U3425WE which has identical port layout in the monitor and this is not an option. There is only one port with upstream and charging. Also the Dell Display software currently has no option to switch from USB C sources. It can only switch between HDMI, Display Port and USB C. I was hoping to switch between a USB C windows laptop for work and my MacBook Pro and ran discovered the issue. If you are using USB C for one computer and and the USB uplink and HDMI/DP for the other, it should work fine. You won’t have charging though for the computer connected via HDMI.
