FUJIFILM Provia 100F overview

  • 1Description

Fujichrome Provia 100F Professional RDP-III from FUJIFILM is a daylight-balanced color transparency film that exhibits a super-fine grain structure with vivid and naturally appearing colors and rich tonal rendition. It has a medium-speed nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21° when processed in E-6, CR-56, or C6R processes and can effectively be pulled one half stop or pushed two stops with Minimal variations in color balance and gradation. Excellent reciprocity characteristics also make this film highly suitable for use during long exposures and ensures consistent film speeds and coloring across multiple and extended exposures. Medium overall contrast and saturation make this film ideal for use in a wide range of photographic applications and is especially well-suited for use in product, landscape, nature, portraiture, and fashion photography.

This item is one roll of 120 format roll film.

FUJIFILM Provia 100F reviews

Fujichrome Provia 100F Professional RDP-III Color Transparency Film (120 Roll Film) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 69.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful!!!! Just shot a roll thru my 60 year Rolleicord that Harry refurbished for me. The contrast is rich and the exposure is spot on!! Image sharpness is unreal!! I ran a roll of Ektar thru this camera last fall and can see the difference-Provia is better for me!!!! I also prefer this over Ektar because of the long exposures you can do without the color shift. I love this stuff!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my most shot film just after buying a few boxes of this magical film, I received 3 more boxes as a birthday gift from a friend. (THAT'S SOME FRIEND!!) although I only use it as a cross processed film, from the desert, to the ocean to the sky I am always amazed with it's results. I'm sure some would turn their heads to my results, but some of it's imperfections (partially my fault) become it's loveliest strongpoints for me! always in at least one of my cameras, one of my cars, and always make sure there is some staying cool in the fridge. can't wait for my next pick-up of prints!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great slide film i'm a fan of provia. i don't think the colors of velvia are always appropriate. enter provia. very natural/rich colors without being over-bearing. it has slightly more exposure latitude than velvia as well. it produces very rich tones and contrast. it misses 5 stars for me as it seems a bit overpriced. although, i suppose fuji may have the market cornered at this point for slide film. if you want to shoot slides, your going to pay for it. great film. i haven't used it in 35mm. i use it in 120 and 4x5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timeless With significantly less exposure latitude than color negative film or most digital cameras, color positive film has a timeless look. Processed e6 at home, this film had moderate contrast and moderate to heavy saturation. It is not over saturated and the color seems very true to life. The grain seems more noticeable than kodaks t grain negative films, but only upon pixel peeping. I was also not familiar with Fujis adhesive wrapper versus the common lick and stick to seal the exposed film.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for night shooting This film has given me great colors for night shooting, and has been shown to have excellent reciprocity characteristics. You can make exposures of up to 128 seconds (that's over two _minutes_) without needing to make any corrections for reciprocity failure. Like all slide films, it has much narrower exposure latitude than negative film, which make it challenging to use, but when you nail the exposure the results are brilliant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from versatile film with that chrome pop I really enjoy shooting this slide film-- it's such a pleasure to see it when it comes back from the lab and know that what I see is what I get; that is, the color and contrast the film was designed to have are apparent from the film itself, as compared to negative film that I must scan and whose look I must then try to recapture in photoshop, or raw digital files that don't have any particular feel. Even when I scan my chromes, I have a guide I can return to to help me make decisions about how to work with the digital files.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great x-pro film! There aren't that many brands of film left, but that doesn't mean they stopped making the good stuff. Provia is a great all around slide film. The saturation and contrast is not as crazy as Velvia, which makes this great for people. The colors are still saturated enough though for this to be a great landscape film. Don't be afraid to x-pro is also, its great for that lo-fi kind of crazy stuff that the kids do these days with their plastic cameras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great film I use Fujichrome Provia 100F, mostly, for portrait photography. I use it in studio, team shots in the gymnasium, and outdoor portraiture. I love looking at the resultant transparencies on a light table then scanning at a very high resolution. I've used this film out of date by a year and kept refrigerated and I don't lose any color quality, tonal range remains consistent. My only disappointment isn't so much with the film as I wish Fujifilm produced this in a 220 format.
