question

Is this film better overexposed? Or shot at box speed?
Asked by: Steven
There is some confusion in these answers. People are confusing shooting under box speed with shooting underexposed. This film works best at box speed or a little bit underexposed. If you decided to shoot underexposed, you would be shooting it at over the box speed - that is, with your meter / camera set at 160 ASA instead of 100 ASA. Then you'd be under-exposing by half a stop. Good luck.

question

Is it good for star trail photography over 1hour of exposure?
Asked by: Benjamin S.
I have found the reciprocity characteristics for this film to be excellent. You can google search for the provia data sheet pdf for official exposure compensation values in longer exposures. My unscientific opinion is that you will do well with longer exposures for star photography with this film. The color shifts slightly warm for longer exposures but nothing out of the realm of exceptable. I hope this helps and happy shooting
