Not known at this time. Nikon posted MTF for the new lens, it's slightly worse than 24-200, definitely worse than 24-120.

I use Z8 and Nikon Z 24-120mm f4 S. Question: How sharp is this new 28-400mm zoom compared to the 24-120mm f4 S?
Asked by: Steven
The Nikon NIKKOR Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR Lens is slightly less sharp than the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S Lens. Autofocus is slower at the telephoto end of the zoom. The 24-120mm lens has a constant max aperture of f/4. The 28-400mm has a max aperture of f/4 at the wide end of the zoom, but it is f/8 at the telephoto end of the zoom.
