ZWO FF80 Overview

Capture memorable images of deep-sky objects and the planets with this ZWO FF80 Telescope with 26MP Astronomical Camera, GoTo Mount & Tripod Kit from B&H. The bundle includes everything needed for astrophotography: an 80mm refractor optical tube assembly, a 26MP dual-sensor imaging/guide camera, a GoTo mount, a power/control hub for wireless control with minimal cabling, a carbon fiber tripod with an aluminum pier, and a 12 VDC power supply.

ZWO FF80 APO Astronomical Telescope (OTA Only)

Designed for astrophotography but also great for observation, the FF80 APO Astronomical Telescope from ZWO features a quadruplet air-spaced apochromatic lens system that eliminates the need to use a separate field flattener. The quad APO with two extra-low dispersion elements also dramatically reduces chromatic aberration and eliminates the need to calculate back focus distance—just attach your camera with one of the four included adapters and you're ready for imaging. The f/7.5 focal ratio and 600mm focal length lend themselves to both planetary and deep-sky photography. An optional diagonal and eyepieces are required for visual use.

Optical Tube Assembly
  • f/7.5 focal ratio and 600mm focal length allow for both deep-sky and planetary imaging
  • Quadruplet air-spaced apochromatic refractor design with two ED elements produces rich views with minimal chromatic aberration
  • Quad APO is self-flattening, eliminating the need for a separate field flattener
  • Supports 44mm image circle for full-frame cameras
  • Fine spot diagram with tiny distortion of peripheral stars and under-3µ central RMS radius
Focuser
  • Sturdy 3" rack-and-pinion design can easily carry larger and heavier eyepieces, accessories like Barlows and focal reducers, and imaging systems
  • 360° rotator with scales and finder base
  • 10:1 fine adjustment ratio
Use and Handling
  • Anodized red handle and tube ring assembly, can be detached and reinstalled in seconds
  • Handle has M6 screw holes for attaching accessories
  • M76, M68, M54, and M48 camera adapters
ZWO ASI2600 Pro Duo Cooled Color Astronomy Camera

Offering two critical functions in one camera, the ASI2600 Pro Duo Cooled Color Astronomy Camera from ZWO comes with two sensors, a 26MP imager and a 2.1MP guider. The APS-C Sony IMX571 color CMOS imaging sensor boasts low read noise, no amp glow, and low dark current noise, thanks to the camera's 95°F two-stage thermoelectric cooler. The polyimide heater prevents condensation from interrupting your imaging. The guide sensor, in communication with your mount, will keep the camera locked onto your target during long exposures. The ASI2600 Pro Duo runs on a user-supplied 12V, 3-5A power supply.

26MP Imaging Sensor
The ASI2600 Pro Duo is equipped with a back-illuminated 23.5 x 15.7mm Sony sensor with a resolution of 6248 x 4176. The 3.76µ pixel accommodates an impressive full well capacity of 73ke. The sensor boasts a quantum efficiency of 80%.
2.1MP Guide Sensor
The SC2210 sensor, taken from the ZWO ASI220MM Mini camera, features very high sensitivity. The QE peak value reaches 92% at 500nm. The readout noise is as low as 0.6e. As a new generation of guide sensors, it has been adopted by many photographers with excellent results.
Native 16-Bit Analog to Digital Converter
ASI2600 Pro Duo's imager features true 16-bit ADC, delivering a dynamic range output of 14 stops. This significantly improves the image sharpness and contrast, and the contrast gradients are smoother and more natural-looking.
Two-Stage TEC Cooling
The imaging sensor can be cooled to 95°F below the ambient temperature, holding down dark current noise. When the sensor is cooled to 32°F, a 300-second exposure would cause only 0.7e dark current noise in total, even lower than the camera's readout noise.
High Conversion Gain Mode
HCG mode comes on automatically when gain is set to 100 and keeps readout noise very low while maintaining the 14-stop dynamic range.
USB 3.0 & 512M DDR3 Memory
The ASI2600 Pro Duo is equipped with a USB 3.0 transmission interface and a built-in 512MB DDR3 cache to ensure stable and secure data transmission. Under long exposure, it effectively avoids frame dropping and greatly reduces the glow effect caused by slow reading speed.
No Amp Glow
Using zero-glow amp circuitry, the ASI2600 Pro Duo eliminates amp glow—a weak infrared light source often created by traditional CMOS sensors, sometimes seen in the corners of uncalibrated images. You won't have to worry about it, even during high-gain, long-exposure imaging.
Anti-Dew Heater
A polyimide heater sits on the top of the protective window, preventing condensation that could disrupt your imaging. It consumes about 5 watts and can be disabled to conserve power.
ZWO ASIAIR Plus Wi-Fi Astrophotography Control Hub (256GB)

Eliminate the clutter and complexity of astrophotography with the ASIAIR Plus Wi-Fi Astrophotography Control Hub from ZWO. The ASIAIR (pronounced ASI-air) has ports for plugging in control and power cables for your camera, mount, motorized focuser, electronic filter wheel, and dew heater. With the ASIAIR app for iOS or Android, you can control each component of your rig through the ASIAIR Plus via Wi-Fi—no more cables to laptops outdoors. In fact, you don't even have to be outdoors—the ASIAIR app lets you plan and launch fully automated imaging sessions from the comfort of your home, car, or tent. The hub handles chores like polar alignment and plate solving (comparing your telescope's view to a sky map to find objects) and features a USB-C port for fast image downloads to a computer. You will need a separately available 12V 5A power supply to operate the hub.
