The rear element protrudes so far, are there any issues with it hitting the cameras sensor?

The PL-mount flange focal distance, or the distance from the lens mount to the sensor plane, is a constant standard of 52mm, and any PL-mount lens will need to fit within this range. The real issue may be any filters, such as an ND, in front of the sensor. The rear projection on the BLAZAR LENS CATO 40mm T2.0 Full Frame 2x Anamorphic Lens (ARRI PL) is 24.6mm from the flange. We recommend measuring or finding out the acceptable tolerance for your chosen camera.
