Mobile Data Transmission for Creators
Deliver your vision with the PDT-FP1. Integrating optimal antenna design, an effective heat dissipation structure, and versatile input interfaces, it delivers high-speed and stable communication that fully caters to professional remote camera connectivity demands, all while offering simple operability.
High-Speed Data Transmission
The internal antenna design is optimized to maximize reception sensitivity, enabling high-speed, low-latency communication over a wide range of bands, including LTE and both 5G Sub6 and mmWave (where available).
Numerous Communication Bands
With a wide variety of compatible communication options, including both local and private 5G, the PDT-FP1 enables fast and efficient data transmission worldwide. It also supports single or dual SIMs (nanoSIM + eSIM) for transmitting data while automatically switching to a stronger network.
Large, Bright Display
The PDT-FP1 features a large 6.1" OLED display that features a 2520 x 1080 resolution. The display can input up to UHD 4K60 video for preview during transmission, and it can also display network statistics and camera data.
Heat Dissipation System
To ensure reliability in challenging environments, the PDT-FP1 incorporates a newly developed cooling fan and a duct structure designed for heat dissipation and quiet operation. It effectively prevents thermal shutdown, even in temperatures as high as 104°F, for continuous transmission during shooting.
Power Supply Options
The PDT-FP1 is equipped with two USB-C ports that support USB PD (Power Delivery). One handles both data communication and charging, while the other is solely for charging. Using two ports, the PDT-FP1 can be charged while transferring data, allowing you to shoot without worrying about the battery level.
Versatile Input Interfaces
The PDT-FP1 offers versatile input interfaces, ensuring fast and stable data communication. A wired LAN terminal can connect to a compatible camera for data transfer and streaming, and an HDMI type A terminal is also provided for video data transmission.
Expandable Storage
The PDT-FP1 is equipped with 256GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1TB with the optional microSD card. This allows for stable data transfers while ensuring ample storage space.
Quick File Transfer for Photographers
Effortlessly transfer files to a designated FTP server or Creators' Cloud by connecting compatible Sony cameras via USB or Ethernet. Once the initial setup is complete, the "Camera Wired Connection" setting will automatically transfer files without the need to configure settings each time.
File Transfer and Live Streaming for Videographers
The "Camera Wired Connection" setting offers automatic file delivery to the C3 Portal and Ci Media Cloud for improved workflow. Together with its large 6.1" display and "Network Visualizer", transfer status can be visibly monitored before and while shooting. Also, low-latency, low bit rate, high-quality live streaming is possible with 5G connectivity by using the optional CBK-RPU7 and NXL-ME80 as a receiver.
Professional Setup
The PDT-FP1 features a 1/4"-20 (5.5mm) tripod screw hole on the rear for mounting onto a tripod or camera, and it features a strap hole for effective cable management.

Does it do data bonding if you provide two data plans, one with nano SIM the other with eSIM? or does it only switch to stronger signal of the two?
Asked by: Nidal
The Sony Portable Data Transmitter switches to the strongest signal. The two sims are not bonded. It supports single or dual SIMs (nanoSIM + eSIM) for transmitting data while automatically switching to a stronger network.

Does it work with other camera brands ? Such as Canon or Nikon ?
Asked by: Chris
Can you clarify, please? What about through the LAN or USB-C ports? Will it work with a Canon 1Dx or R3 using the LAN port? And will it recognize the Canon (or Nikon) files and transmit them without a problem? Is a third party app needed or would one use Canon Connect? There’s very little info available and no videos posted by users yet (other than Sony a1 or a9 users). B&H is great about accepting returns but I’d rather avoid the hassle if there’s any doubt it would function smoothly. Thanks.
