A seamless means for remotely controlling select Sony cameras, the RMT-P1BT Wireless Remote Commander uses Bluetooth connectivity for adjusting certain camera settings and releasing the camera's shutter within a 16.4' range. Can I control several cameras at once? I.e start and stop video recording.

No, you cannot. The Sony RMT-P1BT Wireless Remote Commander, B&H # SORMTP1BT, can only be paired to one camera at a time via Bluetooth. To use the remote with a new camera, it would have to be un-paired from the first camera, so it cannot control multiple cameras simultaneously.
